چکیده

7 An automated registration system named AISIR (Automated Inter-sensor/Inter8 band Satellite Image Registration) has been designed and implemented for 9 the purpose of registering satellite images acquired using different sensors and 10 spectral bands. Sensor and environmental noise, contrast non-uniformities, 11 and inter-sensor and inter-band intensity mapping differences are addressed 12 in the AISIR system. First, a novel modified Geman-McClure M-estimation 13 scheme using a robust phase-adaptive complex wavelet feature representa14 tion is introduced for robust control point matching. Second, an iterative 15 refinement scheme is introduced in the AISIR system for improved control 16 point pair localization. Finally, the AISIR system introduces a robust map17 ping function estimation scheme based on the proposed modified Geman18 McClure M-estimation scheme. The AISIR system was tested using various 19 multi-spectral optical, LIDAR, and SAR images and was shown to achieve 20 better registration accuracy than state-of-the-art M-SSD and ARRSI regis21 tration algorithms for all of the test sets. 22

From Aff to Ccnt: Jpl’s Evolving Family of Multi- Function Constellation Transceivers

I . ABSTRACT JPL is developing novel RF tracking sensors for both of NASA’s New Millennium Program constellation missions, ST-3LStarLight and ST-5. ST-3/StarLight9 the Separated Spacecraft Inlerferometer, is a two-satellite formation in heliocentric orbit designed to demonstrate various technologies required for space interferometry. Scheduled for a 2006 launch. ST-3 will fly JPL’s Autonomous F...

Ranging Consistency Based on Ranging-Compensated Temperature-Sensing Sensor for Inter-Satellite Link of Navigation Constellation

Global Navigation Satellite System performance can be significantly enhanced by introducing inter-satellite links (ISLs) in navigation constellation. The improvement in position, velocity, and time accuracy as well as the realization of autonomous functions requires ISL distance measurement data as the original input. To build a high-performance ISL, the ranging consistency among navigation sat...

Cross-calibration of Irs-1c, -1d and -p6: Wide Angle Sensors Using Synchronous or near Synchronous Matching Scenes

For many applications (e.g., disaster management, precision farming), it is required to monitor events using multi-date satellite imagery acquired over the same area. This requirement can be best met with a set of satellites whose radiometric characteristics are fully modelled. Even though there is a gamut of satellites with identical or near-identical radiometric characteristics, systematic di...

Demonstration of a Ka-Band communication path for On-Orbit Servicing

The objectives of on-orbit servicing (OOS) missions include manipulation, proximity operations and inspection of target satellites. Therefore the servicer satellite often has to be teleoperated at low latency for several minutes to fulfill these tasks. That means communication plays a crucial role for OOS missions because real time teleoperation including high data rates has to be realized. So ...
